Maybe the team is busy but not truly aligned. Maybe you are leading in a way that looks right from the outside but does not feel true from the inside. Maybe you have been through the workshops, absorbed the frameworks, and still find yourself going back to the same patterns on Monday morning. That gap between knowing and actually leading differently is exactly where my work begins.
I am Heather Thomson, a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and trained Systemic Team Coach. I work with senior leadership teams and the leaders who lead them, helping them move from insight to the behaviour change that creates real, lasting impact.
My approach is grounded in Professor Peter Hawkins' Five Disciplines of High Value Creating Teams. Rather than focusing only on what happens inside the team, I look at the whole picture: the team's purpose, its stakeholders, the wider system it is part of, and the culture it is either building or quietly eroding. It is the difference between treating the symptom and understanding what is actually driving it.
I work with teams who are carrying real responsibility and know that how they lead together matters just as much as what they are trying to achieve.
I work with individual leaders who are ready to lead as themselves; not as the version of a leader they think they are supposed to be. With nearly three decades of experience across education, healthcare, corporate, and non-profit sectors, and trained through Coaching.com with Peter Hawkins, I bring rigor, genuine warmth, and a deep conviction that the best leadership development does not stop at the aha moment. It starts there.
